Somersett
Somersett will never be a destination, but people have been climbing here for a long time as the old bolts in the rocks will testify. I remember hiking in from mogul having to traverse a chainlink fence over the flume to get it. Once called Mogul Boulders, then Pumpkin or the Pumpkin Patch this area is now known as Somersett for the subdivision that is developing the area. It offers mostly lowball bouldering on great reddish granite, and the consistent breeze and proximity to Reno make it a great place for an evening session in the summer, or a good place on a sunny winter day. The best boulder has already fallen to development and the largest cluster in the Boulders @ Somersett isn't far behind, but the recession has kept it open for now.
